AEGIS Cyber was founded in 2016 in Zurich by Dr. Lukas Steiner, a former commanding officer of the Swiss Armed Forces Cyber Command. Recognizing that the private sector faced the same caliber of threats as nation-states — but without the same defensive capabilities — he assembled a team of elite operators from military and intelligence backgrounds.
The founding principle was simple: to defend effectively, you must think like an attacker. This offensive-first philosophy permeates everything we do — from our red team operations to how we architect defensive solutions for our clients.
